Table lamp, marble lamp, cordless lamp. The lamp is built from three pieces of stone: a cylinder for the base and two thick discs stacked above it, with the light hidden in the gap between the discs so it escapes sideways as a ring rather than shining at anyone. Nothing is painted and nothing is plated. What you see is the stone itself.

The marble is a white stone with deep purple and charcoal veining, often called viola marble, and every piece is cut from a different part of the block, so the pattern on your lamp will not be the pattern in the photograph. The stone is heavy: this is a lamp that stays where it is put, on a sideboard, a console, a bedside table or an entryway shelf.

It is 11.8 inches wide and 13.8 inches tall, and it is the rechargeable version, so there is no cord and no plug to hide. The light is warm white and dimmable, and the LED is built in. It suits interiors where one heavy natural material is allowed to be the point: minimalist, japandi, wabi sabi, postmodern and gallery-style rooms.
