Pendant light, hanging lamp, ceiling lamp, drop light. The names differ; the fixture is the same idea, and what separates this one is the shape. The shade is a teardrop: a narrow wooden neck that widens into a curved bell and ends in a wide, flat opening. It is not a cone. The sides curve, which is why it reads softer than the straight-sided pendants it usually hangs next to. Inside, the shade is white, so the light bounces once before it leaves and lands on the table without a hard edge.

Six colors: mint green, blush pink, sky blue, light grey, white and black. They are pastel rather than saturated, a palette often called macaron, and a single pastel shade is the cheapest way to put one colored object into a neutral room. White and light grey disappear into the ceiling. Mint, blush and sky blue are for rooms where the light is meant to be noticed. Black is the one that holds up over a dark wood table.

It hangs from an adjustable black cord on a black ceiling rose, cut to length during installation, so it fits a standard ceiling and a high one. The shade is open at the bottom and throws light straight down in a circle roughly as wide as the surface below it. That makes it right over a kitchen island, dining table, breakfast bar, bedside, hallway, entryway, home office or cafe counter, and wrong as the only light in a room. In a row of three above an island, about 30 inches between centers looks right. It suits scandinavian, nordic, japandi, minimalist, mid century and modern farmhouse interiors.

Please note: the supplier specifies this fixture at 220V with an E27 socket. Before wiring it to a standard US circuit, have an electrician confirm the fitting, or choose one of our 90-260V pendants instead.
