Pendant light, hanging lamp, ceiling lamp. The shade is unglazed white ceramic with fine vertical fluting, and the fitting above it is solid brass on a twisted brown fabric cord. Ceramic diffuses light differently from glass: the surface glows softly where the light passes through the thin ridges, so the shade reads as warm even before the bulb is on.

Three shapes are made. Cone is the widest at 8.7 inches across and 3.5 inches tall, the one to hang over a kitchen island or a dining table where the light needs to spread. Cylinder is 5.1 inches across and 5.7 inches tall and throws a narrow column of light, which suits a bedside, a hallway or a row along a bar. Globe is 5.5 inches across and 4.7 inches tall, the softest of the three and the one that looks best hung on its own.

Each shape can be bought singly or as a set of two, which is what most people want over an island or a long table. The cord is 59 inches on the Cone and 79 inches on the Cylinder and Globe, cut to length during installation. The bulb is not included; a warm 2700K LED suits the ceramic. It fits scandinavian, japandi, wabi sabi and modern farmhouse rooms. Over a dining table, hang the bottom of the shade about 30 inches above the tabletop.
