The arms curve up rather than down, so the glass domes sit on top of the brass like bowls on stems and the light bounces off the ceiling before it reaches the room. That is what makes this fixture soft to sit under: you never see the bulb, and there is no glare from below even at a dining table.

The domes are thick coloured glass in pink, beige or light orange - muted, chalky tones rather than bright ones, closer to a glazed ceramic than to a boiled sweet. Beige is the quiet one and works in a dining room or a hallway; pink and light orange are warmer and suit a bedroom, a nursery or a child's room. The arms and the stem are brushed brass.

Two sizes: three domes or five. The three-head version is 19.7 inches across and 9.8 inches tall, which is right over a small dining table or in a bedroom; the five-head is a room's main fixture and needs the ceiling height to carry it. It hangs from rigid brass rods supplied in 20 cm and 30 cm lengths, so you set the drop during installation and it will not swing afterwards. Bulbs use the E26 screw fitting and are not included, and you choose warm, cool or natural white when ordering. Rated for US household current, mounts to a standard ceiling box. Over a dining table, set the rods so the bottom of the arms sits about 32 inches above the tabletop.
