wabi-sabi-resin-pendant-light
Wabi-Sabi Resin Pendant Light for Dining Room, LED Included, Touch Switch, Adjustable Cord, for Kitchen Island, Bedroom, Hallway, White or Grey

The surface is the reason this pendant exists. The shade is cast resin with a rough, uneven finish, so it reads as plaster or stone rather than moulded plastic, and it catches light unevenly rather than reflecting it flatly. Wabi-sabi is the idea that an imperfect surface is more interesting than a perfect one, and that is the design brief here. LED light is included and a touch switch sits on the fixture, so it works over a dining table or kitchen island with no wall switch nearby.

Also known as a hanging lamp, ceiling lamp, suspension light, drop light or ceiling pendant, it suits a dining room, kitchen island, breakfast bar, bedroom, bedside, hallway, entryway, living room, home office, staircase, cafe or restaurant counter. Hung in a row of three it lights a long counter; hung alone over a table it becomes the main object in the room.

Two shapes are made: a smooth dome, and a wavy version with an irregular, hand-shaped edge. Each comes in white or grey, in four diameters: 12 inch (30 cm), 16 inch (40 cm), 20 inch (50 cm) and 24 inch (60 cm). Size should follow the room, not preference. Twelve inches suits a bedside, a hallway, or a row of three along a kitchen island. Sixteen inches works over a table for four. The 20 and 24 inch sizes are for a large dining table or a living room. White brightens a dark ceiling; grey holds the texture better in a bright room. Both sit naturally in a wabi sabi, japandi, scandinavian, nordic, minimalist, modern farmhouse, organic modern, boho or mid century interior.

It hangs as a cord pendant with a 59 in (150 cm) drop, shortened during installation to fit standard or high ceilings. The LED light source is included, so no bulb purchase is needed, and the E26 fitting takes a standard US bulb if you replace it later. Rated 110-240V for US household current and mounted to a standard ceiling box. It weighs about 9 lbs, so check your box is rated for it. Indoor use. Three-year warranty. Over a dining table, hang the bottom of the shade roughly 30 inches above the tabletop.

Light source: LED included, E26 fitting

Shade: cast resin, textured matt finish

Shapes: smooth dome or wavy edge

Colours: white or grey

Sizes: 12, 16, 20 and 24 in diameter (30-60 cm)

Drop: 59 in (150 cm) cord, shortened on installation

Switch: touch on/off on the fixture

Installation: cord pendant, ceiling mounted

Voltage: 110-240V AC

Weight: approx. 9 lbs (4 kg)

Use: indoor

Warranty: 3 years
